When we arrived at the hotel I explained to the receptionist my wife had broken her foot so may we please had a ground floor room, he was very unhelpfull saying they didn't had one, they didn't have a lift and the room we where given was along way from the parking area as well. As the only way my wife could get to the was to crawl up the stairs, we where unable to go to dinner. The room and bathroom were very tatty with cobwebs, plus point was a very comfortable bed. Also lots of traffic noise from near by road. This was our first time at a Campanile and I have to say I was very disapointed, I expected a better standerd.

We ask for a most quiet room, but, in the end we stay the room which next to the main street, very noise all the time!

I found staff friendly and helpful. It was good value. The hotel was clean and modern. The rooms were comfortable and we really enjoyed our short stay.
It would have been useful to know about facilities for ironing clothes

The cleanliness of the room and the comfort of the bed. The food in the restaurant was very good.
This is not a complaint but it would have been nice to have had a few seats in the grounds - other than the restaurant -where we could have gone outside and read a book or newspaper rather than having to sit in the doorway of our room.

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station. the distance to the city center is quite far, making it difficult to travel with heavy luggage. Despite the shabby appearance, the room was quite comfortable with tea and coffee facilities. the staff was helpful, although the breakfast was quite basic. the quiet location provided a restful night's sleep.
The bathroom was in desperate need of refurbishment, with a difficult-to-flush toilet and squeezy soap.

Checking out
I tried to cancel this hotel because were held by traffic and and missed our ferry. I realized that I didn't have time to get there at a reasonable time. Despite numerous phone calls, they didn't answer the phone. I had to drive 12 hours to get ther and arrived 20 mins before the reatautant closed. All that was offered was a steak with salad - no chips or trimmings. Because we were very hungry, we had to accept it. The then charged us €25 a head for the privelige. I know I called the correct number because I tried it again while standing in reception and it was answered by the recepionist. Steer clear of this one!!!

The hotel itself was ultra-modern with contemporary furnishings and a wonderful power shower. The staff were welcoming, with one receptionist providing us with directions and recommendations for local attractions. The location was great, allowing for an easy and convenient stop over during our journey.
There were a few negative aspects to our stay. the lack of air-conditioning made the room very hot, which made it difficult to sleep.

From this hotel one can get easily to the Hippodrome, it is close to the center of the city and opposite a shopping center. But one can also have nice walks in the countryside.
I have stayed several times in the Campanile all over France. It has now upgraded to a 3star, but I do not think this is really an advantage; ok the rooms look a little more friendly, but for a three-star there is a lack of some things. In the bathroom is only one towel per person. In former times dogs were free of charge, now they cost a supplement. When I asked for the reason, the cleaning stuff has more work to clean up the room, but my room was not really clean when I arrived, so what about dogs make more dirt and therefore more work for the cleaning stuff?
